Topcon Opens New European Distribution Centre
Topcon Positioning Group has opened a new advanced European distribution centre in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands. The new site has been built as part of the Dutch Tech Campus. The new facility features a 3,000 square metre warehouse and 1,500 square metres of office space. It will be a new home for Topcon's logistics, order fulfilment and service and repair departments.
Developed with sustainability in mind, the new building is completely gas-free, utilizes an intelligent and efficient climate control system and features LED lighting throughout.
The site will be used to house over 40 Topcon employees to start with, but the space has also been built to give the European business space to grow.
European Growth Ambitions
Jaap de Jong, Director of Operations Europe (Retail & Distribution) for Topcon Positioning Group, said: “The new site in Zoetermeer represents a new era for our European warehousing and distribution and really helps as a solid base for our supply chain and efficiency improvements across the region.”
“The facility is a much bigger location for our teams, giving us room to grow, whilst helping support our business to be as sustainable as possible. The physical move was conducted over several days by a team of dedicated Topcon employees, with over 146,000 pieces moved over. This undertaking was definitely worth it though, and we look forward to continuing to deliver the first-class service we’re known for from our new base.”
