CHC Launches i80 GNSS Receiver Worldwide
CHC, based in Shanghai, China, has announced the availability of its new flagship GNSS receiver, the i80. With the ability to compute a true Triple Frequency RTK tilted pole solution using all four worldwide and multiple regional constellations, the i80 receiver is the most advanced receiver available in the market today. The i80 GNSS receiver brings a future-proof sub-centimetre RTK solution to surveyors and contractors everywhere.
The i80’s LCD GUI allows common workflow operations such as static logging, AutoBase, AutoRover and UHF channel selection to be performed easily, without the need of a data collector or computer. CHC’s i80 is the smallest receiver on the market incorporating dual hot-swappable batteries, allowing for days of uninterrupted work. Although small and lightweight, it is packed with a full array of sensors and modules: multiple MEMS, internal Tx/Rx UHF, multi-band cellular modem, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Serial, USB, etc. With all these modules integrated into an ergonomic package, GNSS users will be able to achieve unmatchable productivity.
George Zhao, CEO of CHC, commented that over two years of R&D and testing has gone into the creation of the Linux OS i80 platform. The CEO explained that this innovative design will allow CHC to add new functionality, with over-the-air updates, for years by combining the censors and modules in new ways, as illustrated by the LCD-supported work modes and the MEMS-enabled unlevelled pole surveying added in the last couple months during product roll-out. Via the i80 API, CHC is bringing GNSS into a new era of productivity and ergonomics in a low-cost open platform allowing for unrestricted third-party integration.
