The pandemic has highlighted the value of informatization and digitalization. Various industries are facing challenges with informatization upgrades. How can Big Data GIS, Cloud Native GIS, AI GIS, Distributed GIS and Cross-platform GIS, especially the new 3D GIS technology which enables an upgrade from 2D to 3D, be utilized to satisfy industries’ informatization upgrade needs? How can the digital twin and metaverse be empowered with geointelligence to set off a wave of informatization advancement?

During 6-8 July 2022, experts from government agencies, IT enterprises, upstream and downstream businesses, and scientific research institutions will gather at the 5th GIS Software Technology Conference (GTC 2022) to present cutting-edge GIS technologies, share market research and insights, and discuss future development trends in the GIS industry. Topics to be discussed at GTC 2022 encompass new technologies of GIS platform software, smart cities, water conservancy and meteorology, ecological environment, safety emergency, agriculture, GIS and innovative applications of information technology, natural resource informatization, etc.

GIS Software Technology Conference, or GTC for short, is a global GIS event with the mission of “sharing the latest developments in GIS software, and exchanging the best practices in GIS applications”. In 2019, GTC welcomed more than 200 geospatial experts from over 50 countries to attend the in-person meetings. In 2020, 24,000 attendees from 120 countries were present at virtual sessions. This year, the plenary conference of GTC 2022 will be presented in English, French and Spanish and onsite sessions will be held in Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Botswana, Senegal, Colombia, and Peru.
